1 Day Cruise To Bahamas
Tips for going on a family cruise?
My family and I want to go on a family cruise deporting out of Charleston, SC. Can anyone provide any advice about how to get the best prices for the cruise. Keep in mind that I have 2 school age children. I don't mind them missing 1 or 2 days out of school at the most. I was looking at the Bahamas but if I go in the winter it might be to cold to swim or enjoy the ocean. Is it better to book at the last minute or to book far out?
You pretty much have only one option for a cruise from Charleston, Carnival Cruise line on the Fantasy. Here's a link to the cruise port with the schedule: http://www.port-of-charleston.com/cruises/default.asp. The best way to get the best price is to look for specials and or cruise dates that are the lowest priced. You can do that easily on the Carnival web site: http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/specials/earlysaver.aspx?icid=CC_Specials_297 These are the specials listed right now.
Or, you can look at the other cruises this year: http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Search2/Default.aspx?embkCode=CHS
The prices you see will be for each person based on at least double occupancy and children must pay a fare also but it is generally in the range of 50% of the adult fare. You'll also need to be sure to select a cabin that will accommodate 3 or 4 people.
Cruise lines typically give the best prices for early booking a year or more in advance. However, the specials are generally a good deal also. Don't worry about the water in winter. I have cruised in Dec, and January in the Caribbean and the water has always been just fine for swimming and beach activities.

anyone that lives in the Bahamas?
hii , im going on a cruise in about in two weeks. I will be getting to nassau, bahamas on a sunday.. and only for 1 day!
My question is should i have lunch in the Atlantis or should i pass by this place called "The Fish Fry" ?
Lunch at Atlantis is limited.. as you can't get "on the property", without purchasing a day pass, but can only use the venues at Marina village and murray's deli. (You can enter the lobbies and Casinos, but that's not where the lunch venues are located).
That leaves, the deli, Johnny rockets, Pizza or wraps at Bimini road.. not exactly anything to write home about.
The fish fry is a village of local restaurants with local food and culture.

If it' were my dime.. I'd opt for Arawak Cay's FISH FRY.
Goldies, Seafood Haven, Twin Brothers.. and the freshes Conch Salad and Daiqaris in the bahamas.
