All Inclusive Trip To The Bahamas
Is Vacation Adventures International a scam?
My girlfriend just won a 3 day 2 night trip to Freeport, Bahamas. Airfare is included for 1 person. Reading through the initial paperwork, another airline ticket MUST be booked through the same travel agency. They want an $89 processing fee before they tell you anything. Is this a scam? Has anyone ever dealt with this company? It would be nice if this was truly a genuine free trip, but my gut instinct is that its a scam. Somebody has to be making money. We don't have a lot of extra money to through at a vacation, but if its cheap enough it would be great to have actually won a trip.
Seems to me that all they bought for us is 2 nights in hotel and an air ticket. How much is taht worth, versus booking an all inclusive?
Thanks in advance
Your instincts are correct. It is a fairly common scam intended to lure people in on the idea of a free vacation and then charge them the full costs for two people in hidden fees.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

How should I go about finding an AFFORDABLE trip to the Bahamas? Either cruise or all-inclusive deal?
Affordable travel to a tropical location.
I had this same problem. Upon someone's suggestion, I went to a travel agent. I figured they'd be waaay more, but that wasn't the case. They have special deals worked out with travel companies. Look for one who specializes or carries Apple Vacations. I went to the Dominican Republic (another great place to look into if on a budget), stayed at an all inclusive 5 star resort for 11 days, and INCLUDING airfare paid $1100 per person. Thats less than the Holiday inn.
