Has anyone ever been to the bahamas?

im considering visiting but i want to get a few reviews first...which island did you go to? what about nassau and the Atlantis? how are the people there...are they nice and friendly like i've heard some ppl say?

I've been to the Bahamas several times and stayed at The Atlantis three times, most recently in January. It's like a mini city with dozens of pools, waterslides, a lazy river, shops, a large casino, a real gym, nice spa, and restaurants. The hotel has a nice, long beach too. It gets pretty crowded at certain times of the year and there are always a lot of kids running around. Overall, I like the Bahamas. The people are nice and friendly, the food is generally good although super expensive. I paid $17US for a regular turkey sandwich and a Diet Coke.

Wyndham Resort in Nassau.??!?!?

Hi. Me and my family are going to bahamas in about a week. We are planning on spending 5 nights in the wyndham nassau and crystal palace resort through RCI. how are the rooms RCI gives? after reading many bad reviews, we are beginning to get a little worried about it. we know everything is expensive but thats expected but how is the service and the rooms? how safe is it around the hotel?

also, after those 5 nights, we are spending our last 2 nights at Atlantis Beach Towers. How is that hotel? I know it is kind of on its own and is preety old, but is it still good? We are a 4 person family with 2 teenagers. Will they enjoy it?

Also, while we are at Wyndham what things can we do other then the dolphin encounters. We have 4 days there. When at Atlantis we dont want to leave the resort so we can make themost of the 2 days we have there.

Thanks.

The Wyndham is nice, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. The area around the hotel is the same as any tourist hotel, Cable Beach is alot of fun, you can all check out the casino's and enjoy! For some excursions, try the Flying Cloud. Its a great sailboat trip, the nighttime one is especially beautiful. When you check in, there will be a concierge desk in the lobby - they will help you map out the best excursions for your family.

Atlantis is beautiful. You won't want to leave! Aquaventure will keep you busy the whole visiit! The Beach Tower is the oldest tower, but it's very nice, the rooms all have a beautiful ocean view. A great casual dinner is recommended at a couple places - Bimini Road in Marina Village is a great choice, and Murray's Deli has the best sandwiches anywhere! Carmines is fantastic for Italian food all served family style - the only problem with that is all of you need to agree on what to order! The entrees easily serve 4 people and the appetizer portions are huge as well.

A great tip - at the pool in front of the big slide is a grilling food station. The hot dogs, burger and chicken they grill there is excellent and much better than the pool snack bars and the prices are the same.
