Bahamas Family Resorts

is it easy just to walk into a resort like the Alantis resort in the bahamas without anyone checking for ID?

I'm going to going on a cruise to the Nassau island in the bahamas, and i was thinking of taking the family into their wonderful pools there. And was wondering from people who have stayed there do they need something to show that they are a guest there?

The Casino and lobbies are open to the public. The pools, slides and grounds are for guests only. You will need to purchase a day pass. There are a variety to choose from.
DIGS aquarium is $35pp. / $26 for kids included lagoons but not the pools, slides or beaches.
Beach Pass is $68 pp and includes the aquarium but not the pools, slides or beaches.
The full access pass is $105 pp/ $75 for kids.

There are security at the entry and exit points and all around the grounds checking for the day's colored bracelets (they change every day so you can't use them over again).

Other resorts also have Day passes.
Wyndham is $40 pp and includes a lunch voucher
British Colonial is $20/$10 for kids and is a quiet beach on the harbour
RUI is all inclusive and is $80pp
Sheraton sells a day room for $99. (4 ppl)

You can book a room at either the Atlantis or Comfort Suites which will allow up to 4 ppl full access to Atlantis. (base rate is for 2 and you pay for 2 add'l people in the room depending on the appropriate charges.)

Great family vacation with things to do (toddlers, less than 5)?

Where would you take toddlers on vacation if you DON'T want to just stick them in the Kid's Day Care but you do want a resort, beach, warm weather, attractions, etc.?

We were looking at Atlantis in the Bahamas because of the water slides, aquarium, etc. but it is too far away from California. I'm thinking Florida at the furthest, Texas? Hawaii? S. California? Mexico??

Specific resorts please.

Club Med has some resorts that are oriented towards families with activities for small kids. The closest ones to you that has facilities for kids is Sandpiper in Orlando, FL (http://www.clubmed.us/cgi-bin/clubmed55/SP/villagesHeading.do?PAYS=115&LANG=US&CODLSC=SANC) and Ixtapa Pacific in Acapulco (http://www.clubmed.us/cgi-bin/clubmed55/SP/villagesHeading.do?PAYS=115&LANG=US&CODLSC=IXTC).

The Sandpiper sounds like a good place to look into because you will also have all the Orlando attractions to go to if you want to venture outside of the resort. The only downside is that it is not on the ocean.
