Bahamas Government

What type if government does the bahamas have?

The Bahamas is governed by an old Parliament Democracy with a Prime Minster as the head of the Executive Branch. Over 270 years of uninterrupted change in form of government makes The Bahamas one of the most stable countries in the world. Prior to it's independence in 1973, The Commonwealth of The Bahamas was a British Colony.

and yes the bahamian government is corrupt . lol but not as bad as america's government

Living In The Bahamas: some details?

I am planning to move to the Bahamas with my family and am following up with other sources like online news to do my homework before finalizing the move. However, I would like to hear a bit from Westerners who have settled there or lived there: some more details pl.

Do you feel that the move was worth it? How is the country in terms of political stability and non-intrusive nature of the Government?

How about health services: are they acceptable there? Do the locals treat you at par with them or is there an indercurrent of hostility towards people from USA, UK and such?

Cost of living: is it high or way too high?

Are there associations/settlement support groups from UK or USA based expats? Apart from the yellow pages, are there any resources available to the new arrivals?

Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks.
