Atlantis - Nassau, Bahamas - Has anyone used the hotel babysitting service?
We are traveling this summer to the Atlantis and were hoping to get feedback and ideally a recommendation on the babysitting service offered by the Atlantis. If you had a good or bad experience please let us know AND if you remember the sitters 1st name that would be GREAT!!!
Thanks!
we just got back from a vacation to the atlantis resort in bahamas (we stayed in the beach tower) from february 5, 2008 to february 11, 2008. i have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. my husband and i were very scared at the thought of leaving our very young kids with a total stranger just as any other parent would be and in a foreign country at that, especially since we've never left our kids with anyone that wasn't family. but i figured with such a huge hotel known all over the world, i doubt such a company would hire a crazy maniac to babysit a child. in general, all the staff at atlantis that i came across were in fact very friendly and warm. i can't imagine that their babysitters wouldn't be the same. after asking several questions, i finally gave in and we ended up using it twice in a row during our 7 day stay. SHARON was her name and she is one of the sweetest lady i've ever met. she watched our kids in our room during the late nights on both nights (yes, you can request for the same babysitter if they're available). during the first night she watched them, she even requested that i call the room to check in for peace of mind which i definitely did. my daughter was awake during the first night and she seemed to like having her around and my son was asleep on both nights. by the way, babysitters aren't allowed to take the kids out of the room without a parent present. when my husband and i got back to the room from our "alone" time, sharon was just sitting on the chair watching TV with no sound and all the lights were off. overall, it was a great experience and i highly recommend their services. it was definitely expensive at $23 for both my kids per hour and a minimum 3 hours. if it was a lot less, i would've used it more after having a good experience with sharon. but either way, it was worth it for me and my husband (he won the money back and more at the casino anyway)! anyway, hope this helps.
FYI: they do offer a program for toddlers during the day at certain hours, but unfortunately, that was only available to 3 year olds and up. plus, it's only good until 10 PM. they did also inform me that the babysitter can take your kids out if you want... like to the aquariums and things like that, but a parent has to be present as well. but i highly doubt too many families do that unless you have 10 kids, but just so you know.

Has anyone ever stayed at Paradise Island Harbour Resort in Nassau, Bahamas?
I am thinking about booking a trip to this hotel in May. The rates are super cheap and I was wondering if anyone has stayed there and if so did you like it? Thanks
If your a spring breaker and can't afford anywhere else.. then go for it. If not.. RUN..
It's an old holiday Inn. with a tiny dirty beach, slimey pool and smelly rooms. Most of the time the elevators don't work. It's next door to a demolished shopping center, and will likely be demolished in the near future.
Food is Denny's quality, booze is not name brands. This place is a dump
