Should I cancel our upcoming trip due to stomach flu?
I booked a Disney Cruise 10 months ago and I have a 4 year old son who is over the moon excited, as we leave for Florida this Tuesday. On Thursday morning (5 days before the trip) he begins vomiting etc. - clearly has a dose of stomach flu. He is better now, but it took 3 solid days to recover. I am not worried about him travelling as I am sure he will be fine by Tuesday.
The problem is that last night (late Saturday or early Sunday) my two year old started vomiting. Our flight leaves in 2 days, and it would cost over $600 to change the flight time.From the experience with my son, I think the worst of it should be over by then. Do I cancel the trip and throw 10 months of excitement and over $2500 down the drain? Please, mature, helpful responses only. I am just trying to decide what to do!

You're going to be on a crowded plane and a confined cruise ship. Thinking not only of your children, also think of others who will be in contact with them. In addition, adults are not immune to this illness. You may eventually become ill and it would be terrible for you to be so sick you couldn't enjoy your vacation.
You really should call your doctor for an informed opinion, but in my personal opinion, I'd postpone for about a month. If you purchased trip insurance, you'll only be out a little money to change your plans.
