Destination Weddings In Bahamas
How are destination weddings in Jamaica or Bahamas?
Anyone have any experiences they would like to share? My fiance and I are planning a wedding in either Jamaica or Bahamas (probably doing Sandals). Priced out some Sandals resorts in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril. The price seems pretty good but I don't know if it would be worth it to spend the extra for Bahamas, Antigua, or St Lucia. For 10 days Jamacia is looking like $3k to $3.5k while the others are about $2k additional. I would love to save that $2k and still have a nice wedding....
Jamaica would be perfect! Negril is nicer than Ochos Rios. My brother got married there about 2 years ago and it was absolutely great, beautiful, everything you could want. Save the extra 2gs for sure, there is nothing better about those islands except that they are more americanized. Bahamas is full of bratty kids and tourists. St Lucia is nice but not any nicer than Jamaica. My mom is a travel agent and she could have booked them anywhere but she sent them to Negril.

Any input on destination weddings?
My boyfriend and I are wanting to go somewhere beautiful and interesting to marry. We have looked into the Amalfi Coast (Italy). I have always wanted to go to India. Maybe Spain? We are not really interested in more obvious spots (ie. Jamacia, Mexico, Bahamas...) Any input would help.
That sounds like a wonderful idea! My favorite would be Australia. The water and beaches are beautiful, in the event you wanted to be married outside. However, they have many lovely landmarks as well. The people are extremely friendly, and the honeymoon would be packed full of exciting things to see and do. Good luck and congratulations!
