Going To Florida and On A Cruise?
I'm going on a vacation in a little over 3 weeks and I was wondering what I should take. We are going to Orlando for 5 days and then going on a 7 day cruise with royal caribbean cruises. We are going to Labadee(Haiti), Georgetown(Grand Cayman Islands), Falmouth (Jamaica) and Cozumel in Mexico. Then we are going back to Orlando for two days. I was also wondering if you could recommend anything to do such as excursions during the cruise or things in Orlando. We are going to the beach in Florida and we are going to Universal for one day (Harry Potter!!!!) and Disney for two days. Thank you in advance.
. Try to travel light. For some items it might be a good idea to just take a little extra money and buy them if you need them.
Some things that might be generic:
Basic toiletries - small sizes of things you use every day
Changes of underwear and socks for 2 weeks - always take extra, or for 1 week if you can do laundry
Mix and match outfits that don't wrinkle easily - shorts and tops
A pair of long pants, and/or or a skirt for evening if necessary
Swimsuit, goggles, flip flops, sunscreen, beach cover up
Cell phone and charger
A good book
Whatever electronics you want to take - I would take only essentials
Snacks for the trip
Extra money, and a safe method to carry it
Your ID
A written list of important phone numbers, including the number to call if your credit card gets stolen if your will be carrying one - remember cell phones sometimes get stolen or lost
A pair of comfortable walking shoes and a pair of sandals
Hair dryer - if needed and if you won't be staying in a hotel or have access to a hair dryer
Brush/comb
Camera
Pen and notebook
Bug spray and anti-itch cream
A small backpack
A flashlight and spare batteries - I never travel without them - you never know when you'll need them
A hat
Pyjamas/lounge wear/sleep wear
A light jacket
Rain wear

Disney Cruiseline =)?
What do you think about the disney cruiseline? My family and I were thinking about going on it february break 2009. How was the service? The food? Were there activities on the ship for all ages? How were the islands [nassau and their private island]? We were thinking about either doing 3 nights at disney then 4 nights on the cruise or just 7 days on the cruise ..what would you rather do? How was the excursions on the islands? Would a 16 year old be to old for it?
Please help me =)
I've been on the Disney Cruiseline 4 times, and I'm a teenager also (: I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! If anybody ever tells you that it's only for little kids don't listen! There's a ton of stuff to do for every age group. The only thing is that it's more expensive then other cruise lines, but the fuel surcharge is included(you don't have to pay extra) which is good because it's a fortune on other cruise lines.

The service is exceptional. When you're by the pools, and have an empy plate, someone is always there to take it from you. The people who take care of your rooms do an awesome job, and leave you a towel animal almost every single night. The people who work in the dining rooms that serve you dinner are so much fun. A lot of them tell jokes and are very friendly and know everybody's name throughout the cruise. They're so much fun! Everybody on the ships are so helpful and kind and they just make everything so much more fun!
The food on all cruises is at least decent but the food on Disney is the best that I've ever had. There's soo much to choose from each night, there's certain things you can get every night, there's a kid meal for kids who are really picky, if you order something & you don't like it, they will bring you something else and you don't have to pay extra for it, you can order mroe than one dish, you can order 5 desserts. The only thing that you have to pay extra for is alcohol, the "island" drinks, and soda. If you plan on drinking a lot of soda or other drunks, instead of paying for each one individually, you should definitely buy the soda card, it's well worth it if you plan on drinking a lot. The buffet always has a huge variety of food, i'm the pickiest eater and always find something that i like. the grill outside by the pool has hamburgers, hotdogs, things like that pretty much all day. Room service is always free, you should just give them a few dollar tip depending on how much food you have ordered. Disney has the most incrddible restaurant- animator's palat. you walk in and all of the rooms are black and white and as the courses are brought out to you, the walls get mroe and more colorful it's awesome. there's another restuarant also, which is more of a caribbean type setting. disneyhas rotational dining which means you don't eat at the same restaurants every night, you're assigned to a different one every night.there's also a specialty restaurant, palo, which there is a $20 cover charge for but the food is well worth it.

what makes disney spectacular is that they cover every single age group. everything from kids under one year old all the way to adults. there's kids programs which are really fun, there's teen hangouts with a ton of games & you can meet a lot of people, there's adult only areas, there's 3 different pools (kiddie, family, adult) & there's so much more. there's a spa, there's a gym, there's so many deck activities & so much more onboard.

There's a lot of different things that you can choose to do in both Nassau & Castaway Cay. After being to each one 4 times, I reccomend doing the swimming with the dolphins in Nassau, and just spending some time at the beach at Castaway Cay. It's such a gorgeous beach & there's a ton of stuff that you can do on the beach.

No!!!! A 16 year old is definitely not too old for it! There's a ton of stuff that you can do. there's so many fun excursions I wish that we could have more than one day at each port of call.
If this is going to be your first cruise, then I reccomend only doing a 4 night cruise with 3 days at Disney World. If it's not your first cruise, then I definitely reccomend taking a week long cruise. The reason I say that is because your first cruise should really just be getting to know what crusising is all about. If you really enjoyed cruising (I don't know anyone who doesn't), then definitely go for a longer one afterwords.
I could go on and on forever about disney cruise line but if you have any further questions, feel free to send me a message, I'd be glad to help!
Hope this helps & good luck!!! (:
