Disney Cruise Reviews

Any one got any tips or reviews for a disney vacation.?

In July my family and I are going to Disney World and Disney Cruise. We will be staying at the Polynesian Resort for 5 nights, then going on the Disney Wonder for 4 nights. We don't know much about it so any tips or reviews about our resort, the theme parks, or the cruise would be helpful.

Make a plan for each park, to make sure that you don't miss one the best attractions. www.touringplans.com gives all sorts of suggestions and itineraries for a yearly of membership of 8$. There are charts that list the attractions in each park, and the best/worst times to see them. Those charts were very helpful when we visited in November. We didn't follow the itineraries too closely, but they gave us a lot of excellent ideas and we didn't have to spend too much time waiting on line.

If you are getting the Disney meal plan, make sure you make your dining reservations early. It's hard to get anything at the last minute and you wouldn't want to "waste" your meals. www.allears.net has menus for all the restaurants, which is very helpful.

I highly recommend the "Unofficial Guide to Disney World" by Bob Sehlinger. It is excellent and unbiased.

The Polynesian is lovely; you'll enjoy being right on the monorail when you go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. It will be easy to catch a shuttle bus to Animal Kingdom and MGM.

Do your homework before your vaction. You'll get to experience a lot more without rushing around, plus, it will build up the anticipation! Enjoy your trip!

Disney World VS. Carnival Cruise?

10 day/ 9 night trip to WDW in a moderate resort (2 for 4 people) or MAYBE if we can spring a 1-bedroom at Wilderness or Contemporary , 8 day tickets for the 4 theme parks, Magic your way plus dining, late week or so in august (driving from central Jersey)
or
8 day carnival cruise on Miracle leaving from NY (driving from central jersey/ taking cheap train) to San Juan, St Thomas, and Grand Turk, Balcony (2 for 4 people), mid-July
Reviews, ideas?
Party: mom and dad (52, 49) me (14) brother (18) and MAYBE (but prob not brother 21)
Dad has trouble walking in heat, so ideas w/ Disney's heat (can't take off from school) and crowd beating
Fun stuff to do on the cruise
Basically, help us decide... THANKS!
Thanks for the electric scooter idea, but my dad is kind of proud, and would rather crawl than admit to being kind of old. Also, the Disney resort could be changed, it was just an idea. Thanks everyone!

Hi,
I have been to Disney a number of times and I love it. The Beach Club is the best hotel because of the pool. The pool has a huge slide, whirlpool, lazy river, sinking sand, etc. Your father can get around by renting an electric scooter at the parks. You do not really need tickets for every day as you can spend a day at Disney Downtown. We usually spend a couple of days at the pool. (This saves money on tickets). I'm sort of like your father and we rented a scooter. This way the rest of the family did not have to carry packs around the parks. What is fun at Disney? Everything. Absolutely everything.
