Diving In The Bahamas
Can the oil spread to bermuda or the bahamas? How long?
My relatives have a diving business there, and the oil may seriously damage their livelihood if its not stopped. With the top kill failing, the oil may go on for months now. My heart really goes out to those families in LA and FL who are stuck without work cuz of this.
I wanna ask if the oil is capable of reaching the bahamas or bermuda, and if it could, how long b4 it gets there. I don't know anything about ocean currents, so that's why I'm asking if its possible
For your information it will be neither of them unless you ask somebody (not me), it depends on how concentrated the oil is, if it was concentrated fully it would spread fast and far for about 1 KM per week, non concentrated oil will spread slowly. But don't worry, i have been experimenting oil and water, I got that the further the oil go, the less concentrated the fuel is which will be less poisonous but still harmful.

is it hard to learn how to scuba?
im planning on going to Atlantis Resort In The Bahamas and they have scuba excursions but i have never tried scuba diving... is it something i can pick up the first time or should i get lessons?
Scuba excursions are a one day "quickie" training in the bare basics. They usually take you to a fairly shallow (30 feet or less) area for you to try out.
Like anything, it seems hard at first with so much to remember, but it gets easier the more you do it. I would recommend getting certified BEFORE you go, that way you can actually enjoy it.
I'm not a fan of the "one day" scuba resort trips - there's a lot of equipment stuff they throw at you, and they're usually teaching 20 people at once, and usually in a very short period of time.
