Facts About Bahamas
My picture on my personal website?
Hi, I am making a website hosted on my school's server. Nothing ridiculous. Just a simple but colorful template to hold my resume, research, about me, and contact. My question is, is it appropriate to have a picture of myself? I've heard both yes and no, but I can't understand why not? My professors have pictures of themselves and their family on theirs, so why can't I? Does this really hurt me if i put the website on my resume?
fyi, the picture is just me jumping on the shore of a beach i went to in the bahamas (I AM NOT IN A SWIMSUIT..i have clothes on...as a matter of fact, it's kind of far away). The color of the water complements my site very well, that's why i wanted to use it. I understand that drunk photos are a no-no, and obviously other inappropriate content but i don't want to create any kind of bias either...
what about a picture of my family? thoughts? thx.
If it is a professional website, which includes one that you hope will in the future land you a job, it will be best to put in a professional picture. I say jumping into water is not real professional. No means to hate, but if it is just an about you page then add whatever you like. It is about you, only people who know you will look at it.
