Ferry To Bahamas From Miami

is there a cheap way to get from southern florida (like miami) to the bahamas, by ferry/boat/plane?

Just wondering if there is a place in southern florida where you can travel to the bahamas by ferry/boat/plane for really cheap? I'm thinking about flying down from Kansas City, to somewhere in florida for vacation, and am interested in going to bahamas, but can't afford a regular plane ticket straight there.

There have not been any ferry boats running from Florida for YEARS now. You can NOT take a CRUISE SHIP and get off in the Bahamas because you can NOT leave a CRUISE SHIP in MID CRUISE.. it's against international law.

Your best bet would be to find someone with a sailboat who was heading for the Bahamas and talk them into letting you work your way over. Your best bet would be PORT OF LAUDERDALE and hit the marinas.

You WILL need a PASSPORT.. you know that.. right?

If you decide to FLY IT then the cheapest airline is SPIRIT AIRLINES out of ORLANDO.. no frills, but it's cheap and the trip is short.

Im going to Atlantis in Bahamas. Is there a ferry or cruise that could take me from Miami to bahamas?

there is celebration cruise but they now only go from west palm beach into freeport, it cost $64 a night plus you pay for a bin to take all your stuff. then there is discovery which is similair to celebration but i think it is a little cheaper plus it goes drom fort lauderdale to freeport.
