Fishing In The Bahamas
Ragged Island Bahamas?
Im looking for a bahamian island to explore/camp/fish on for a week or two. Anyone ever been to the ragged islands? Ive been to eleuthera every year for a while now but im looking for something more desolate/primitive. Be great to take a kayak and paddle around a week or two without running across anyone? I checked on a permit for camping while on my "photography tour" and was told "dont worry bout it mon, just go!...that was from the office in nassau...lol. Any help or ideas? Thanks.
Thanks alot Seeanna! would it be possible to pick your brain via email? Im sure your expience would be a tremendous hlp. My email is layinglowoneleu@gmail.com Yhanks again for any advice or tips.

The Islands in the Southern Bahamas are " remote .Islands" They are Crooked Island, Acklins Island, Inagua, Mayaguana, Rum Cay, Ragged Island, Long Cay which is also called Fortune Island.
If you really want to explore and connect with Nature and the Sea, try Crooked Island. Go to "Tourism today" on the Internet. They will be able to help you.
Crooked Island, Acklins, and Long Cay are very close to each other, enjoy the beauty of them all.

ok so this is another part of my question for fishing in the bahamas. can u fish off of the shore or do u have to b on a boat??
Depends on what you want to catch. If you want to catch little tropical fish, rays and the occasional barracuda, you can be on shore. If you want bigger fish or sharks, gotta get a boat.
