Hurricane season officially starts on 1 June. That should solve your problem.
Few hurricanes occur that early, though it's always possible. You should plan to have completed your honeymoon not later then the first week or so of June, if you want to be on the safe side.
With that figured, work you time table backwards.
(Don't pick holidays like Easter or Mother's day either: flower prices skyrocket on holidays!)

Agree with previous answer. Sandals has a great reputation and does a nice job at all of its resorts. Geared toward couples, lots of activities, great service, and all-inclusive. Great vacation property.
