Can anyone help me with some college information?

I plan to study in Tampa Florida and would like some info on colleges over there. I'm from the Bahamas and it will be my first time studying abroad. What all will I need to do to prepare myself to move over and enroll in a college? I'm leaning towards the medical field. My ultimate goal is to become a mid wife. I know I have to do R.N Nursing first but I wouldn't mind starting even smaller in terms of medical/ doctor assistant. I just want to be in the medical arena. Help Please.

The most cost effective thing to do with credits that you can transfer to any state college in Florida is to enroll at Hillsborough Community College. It is inexpensive and they have a nursing program

After two years you will be an RN and will be able to earn a lot more than a medical assistant does. After you get your degree there, you can transfer to University of South Florida for more.
