Would Disney Cruise Lines be the best first cruise for us?

We are a couple (38 and 40) with no children. We read lots of bad reviews about the other cruise lines, but rarely do we see bad reviews about Disney. My aunt and uncle (late 50s) also never had children and they have sailed on Disney three times and love it. The impression I get is that perhaps the child programs and adult programs are very much separated from one another on the Disney ships than on the other ships. What do you think?

There is a first time for everything but with a Disney cruise you should expect a lot of children. Do you like children and can you tolerate them? The other concern with Disney is the price. For that price you could take a much better cruise in a better cabin possibly with a better itinerary for cheaper. It just depends on the cruise line...

You should look at your travel dates and consider the itinerary first. Royal Caribbean is a good line along with Celebrity. Celebrity is a great cruise line and it caters to more of an upscale crowd, the service, the rooms, the amenities, and everything else are outstanding. Princess is also good, but it caters to a more older crowd along with Holland America. Though Princess does amazing Alaska cruises. NCL might be a line to try however it's hit or miss.

And the thing about complaints on cruise lines, you have to evaluate each person's story for what its worth. Some just like complaining while others have valid points. You can't let other people stories and or reviews dictate your decisions in life especially on a cruise.

I would definitely avoid Carnival, MSC, and Costa. I've cruised all of those and while I had a great cruise I wouldn't go back unless I could get a great deal. I've had better on other cruise lines. I would definitely recommend Celebrity, as it's one of the best cruise lines I've been on.
