Can a friend of mine travel to Bahamas on probation?

A friend of mine....no it really isn't me. I told told him I would ask on here to prove a point. He lives in Florida and is planning on going to the Bahamas. He is on probation for a misdemeanor. His probation officer told him that he would need a note from her to go to the Bahamas. He never contacted her and is leaving in a week for the Bahamas. If he does not contact her, can they find out about his probation? My thinking is no but I read somewhere on here that they will find out. Any opinions? I appreciate it.
